"Nooo-ooo….please, Chase, I don't want you to spank me for this." She hadn't said that defiantly, but in a pleadingly desperate tone. She knew better than to become aggressive and defiant when a spanking had been decreed. But, OH! She didn't want one. How had she ever thought that this was the kind of life she wanted … life as a spanked wife?

She could feel the pressure of tears squeezing against the back of her eyes and congealing in her throat. She struggled to hold them at bay. She would NOT start crying already…. it never helped anyway.

Swallowing the tears back, she spoke with complete honesty. "I am already sorry. It isn't going to happen again…. I promise!" She looked at him pleadingly.

He stood there holding the damning paper in his hand. His whole demeanor spoke of calm, determined resolve. He didn't answer her plea but said, "Go upstairs, Kelly." He could see her trembling and his heart constricted as he looked at her face, which was earnestly pleading for leniency, but never the less… "We are not going to debate this one. Go! I'll join you in a few minutes."

Chase watched as she turned and fled up the stairs. With a sigh he went out to the kitchen and poured himself a glass of ice tea. He wasn't really thirsty, but the routine of the common activity gave him a chance to gather himself and get ready for what was to come.

This wasn't particularly easy for him either. Oh, he loved spanking his wife. Don't get him wrong. He had known that spanking was his little piece of heaven when he turned his first girlfriend over his lap and spanked her; he had been 17, she had been 15. From that moment on, he had been hooked, and spanking had become as much a part of him as his compelling blue eyes and dark, unruly hair.

Never the less, over the years he had learned that it took an entirely different mind set to truly discipline spank the woman that he loved with all of his heart. Anyone can put a girl over his knee and spank her; he had done it numerous times and with a variety of women. But none of that had prepared him for how it made him feel when he knew that he was going to have to bust Kelly's butt in a way that wasn't going to be fun for her….or for him.

He took a long drink of his ice tea and set the glass on the counter. He glanced back down at the paper he was still holding in his hand. Had she even planned on telling him about this? It was only by accident that he had stumbled across this while looking for something else. He shook his head wearily and rubbed the aching temple above his left eye. He needed to get up stairs. He knew that waiting was really hard for her, and he wanted this over with too. Things were out of kilter in their world right now and despite her protest that she didn't want to be spanked…. a sentiment that he was sure she genuinely meant right at that moment. He knew that she needed it.....and that they needed it as a couple.

Upstairs, Kelly paced back and forth in their bedroom. How could she have thought she wanted this? This was crazy. No woman should have to be spanked just because she made a little mistake.

Little?!!! Her conscience pricked her, and she knew that this was no "little" mistake. Oh, it might have been in the beginning, but then she had to go and compound the problem by trying to hide it so that Chase wouldn't find out about it.

Kelly tried to push those thoughts out of her head. She was too worried about the consequences that were coming to be rational about her behavior and the events that had caused her to arrive at this moment, pacing in frustrated anticipation. Frustrated, because she knew she was getting spanked just as surely as she knew that the sun would rise tomorrow morning.

At times like this, she forgot how much she had longed for the structure and security that she believed she would find in a DD marriage with the right partner. Kelly had been fascinated with spankings from her earliest memories. Not the quick, grab and swat style spankings that she had gotten as a child but just spankings in general…those she saw on TV and those she heard her classmates tell about in whispered confidences. Her fascination continued as she grew older. She found some delicious scenes in romance novels before moving on to the spanking stories she had greedily consumed after finding this world on the Internet.

But now, at times like this when the delicious butterflies that usually tingled in her tummy had turned into swooping bats careening out of control…at times like this she questioned her sanity and Chase's. How could he do this to her and how could she let him? And WHERE was he? He knew how panic seemed to overwhelm her once a discipline spanking had been decreed. Did he like to make her suffer? He probably did, the jerk.

Kelly realized that she was close to losing control and made a conscious effort to slow her breathing and to calm herself down. "It is just a spanking," she said to herself, taking a deep breath. "Just….a spanking. You've had these before. Hell, you even LIKE to be spanked."

"You are not gonna like this one." An internal dialogue broke into full swing as Kelly's rolling emotions took turns stabbing at her. "You remember what he said, back when the two of you still hadn't done any more than talk on the phone. You know how he feels about discipline."

And, she did remember. Many of the phrases he had said to her had played over and over in her mind and his feelings about discipline was one of them. As though he were standing in front of her, she could hear his voice say…."You will find out one thing from me, too, when discipline is required……I do a very good job with it……Understand?" There had been firm resolve in his voice that spoke of giving no quarter in this area. "I don't play around; I take discipline very seriously. And believe me, sweetheart, if I have to paddle you for disciplinary reasons you are going to know it. In fact you are going to know it for a couple of days afterwards. Do you understand?"

"Yes, sir," Kelly whispered aloud, just as she had several years ago when he had said that to her over the phone. It had been the first time she had been in trouble with him, and it had been a prelude to her first discipline spanking.

Her first….but certainly not her last; and here she was again, didn't she ever learn? And this one she was waiting on…it had been so foolish. She was trying to keep out of trouble and had just succeeded in landing in it up to her eyeballs.

It had started a couple of weeks ago. Her old nemesis of being late had reared its ugly head that morning, and she was rushing to get to work on time. That had been the first of her bad habits that Chase had taken her to task over…and, he had been very successful...most of the time. She was rarely late to work now. In fact, she couldn't remember the last time she had been late, without a very good reason.

She probably wouldn't have been late that morning either. She was cutting it close, but there was still a very good chance that she would sneak in just barely under the deadline. At least that was what she thought until she saw the warning bars going down on the train track in front of her.

Kelly had thought fast…or maybe she hadn't thought at all. Her mind had whirled as she realized that if she had to wait on the train she would definitely be late, but if she did a quick little zig-zag she could be on her way and probably not be late at all. Kelly had glanced quickly up the track. The train was still a long way away and not moving all that quickly either. Why do these stupid bars have to go down so early?

That had decided it. She'd zipped through the bars as they settled into place and continued on down the road…. only to pull up to a 4-way stop sign and to see a police officer shaking his head at her from his patrol car. He had motioned to her to continue on through the intersection and to wait for him on the other side.

With a sinking heart, Kelly had pulled over. She knew she was going to be late now, for sure. But that wasn't the worst; Chase was going to be very upset over this ticket…unless she could talk her way out of it.

She had quickly dug out her license and proof of insurance and had them waiting when the officer walked up to her car window. Putting on her best "repentant little girl" face she had handed the items to him and said, "I am sorry, Officer, but the bars hadn't even finished going down, the train was moving so slowly that I knew there was no danger. I was trying not to be late for work this morning."

The officer didn't even answer her, but just continued to write down her personal information on that pad of his.

Kelly had tried again, "Please, sir, couldn't you just write me a warning this time? If you check my driving record, you will see that I don't have any tickets on my record. I am really a very careful driver. I just used poor judgment, and it won't happen again. I can promise you that."

"I certainly hope it doesn't, ma'am. That was a very foolish thing to do and certainly not worth the few minutes that you think you would have saved. I take this very seriously. It's only been a little over six months that I was the first officer on the scene after another young lady tried to do this very thing. She wasn't as lucky as you were. She didn't survive. That's a sight I'll never forget."

Kelly's heart sank. She remembered when that had been on the news. It had been a young teenage girl being followed by some cute boys in the car behind her. The news reporter had felt it had been done in a joking attempt to elude the boys. It had ended up costing her, her life.

No, Kelly had thought, shaking her head, she wouldn't be getting out of this ticket with smiles or pouts. Even so, she had not been prepared when the officer had handed her not one but two tickets, one for "Failure to comply with crossing control device" and the other for "Reckless endangerment."

Kelly had gasped and looked up in horror at the officer. "Reckless endangerment?" she had asked.

"Yes, ma'am. That was a foolish and reckless thing to have done and once you pay for that ticket, it is one I hope you never do again." And with that, he bid her good day and walked back to his patrol car.

With shaking hands, Kelly had eased back on the road and finished driving to work, late by over 10 minutes. She had still been feeling slightly stunned as she went into the small cubicle that was considered her office. Sitting down at her desk, she had dug the two tickets back out. "Failure to comply with crossing control device" was listed at $65 dollars. But then, she had glanced down in horror at "Driving to Endanger." … $250 dollars. She was going to have to pay over three hundred dollars just because she tried to save a few minutes time…and to avoid a spanking for being late, the nagging little voice had prodded her. Yes, but Chase hadn't needed to spank her for being late in months and months. He might have just let it go this time, or at the most given her a quick reminder to not slip back into her old ways. That would have been nothing compared to what she was faced with now…..if he found out. The words had jumped into her mind and then began flashing like a beacon…"If he finds out. If he finds out."

How could she keep him from finding out about this one? Chase was sure to be quite upset at a ticket costing over three hundred dollars. Where could she get that kind of money? Kelly had quickly run through her options but only one solution came to mind. She would have to charge it on the credit card.

She was usually very responsible with her credit cards. Chase didn't check her statements. If she was careful, she could pay it off in a couple of months. It wouldn't take very long, and then Chase wouldn't even have to know about it.

Kelly's heart had begun to beat faster as she had thought about the possibility of avoiding Chase's displeasure. She really did NOT want him to find out. It would make such an awful evening for the two of them. If she was careful, she could spare him that. She knew he didn't like to have to really come down hard on her.

With relief, Kelly had tried to push away all nagging thoughts about the promises they had made to each other about total honesty and her promise never to lie to him to avoid punishment. "Well, I am not lying," she told her conscience. "I am just choosing not to upset him with something unpleasant that he doesn't need to know about. Three hundred dollars is not avoiding punishment. That is going to have to be paid one way or another, so why should I have to be punished twice? I have definitely learned my lesson. I will never do that again."

And, that was the premise she had operated under…until the moment Chase's voice had said, "Kelly? What is this charge on your credit card to the Centralized Infractions Bureau of Connecticut?" He looked up at her uncomprehendingly, waiting patiently for her to explain.

"Oh….that, uh…..I saw that on there…." Kelly stammered and stuttered trying to think quickly.

She knew instantly the moment that understanding dawned on Chase. It was written all over his face.

"You got a ticket, Kelly? For……how much was that?….Three hundred and fifteen dollars?!! My god, Kelly, what did you do, run over a little old lady?"

"You are not funny, Chase," Kelly said going on the defensive for lack of a better game plan.

"I'm not trying to be funny, baby girl. There is nothing funny about a ticket this large…. especially when this is the first time that I am hearing about it. Weren't you going to tell me about it?"

"What were you doing going through my purse, anyway. Don't I have any right of privacy with my own property?" Kelly took a defensive stance.

"Don't take that attitude with me, little girl. You have never minded me going through your purse before, besides, you asked me to hand you your mother's plane ticket information so you could double check things. I wasn't prying. I was just sorting things looking for that paper. But, none of that has anything to do with the problem at hand. I want an answer and I want it right now!"

"What's the question?" Kelly snapped. She knew she was on shaky ground, but she needed time to plan her defense.

She could see Chase trying to rein in his quick temper. "Were you going to tell me about this?" He had spaced each word out slightly and spoken slowly and deliberately. "No, never mind that. Obviously, you weren't. Why don't we just start with, just what a person has to do to get a ticket that amounts to over three hundred dollars."

Silence on her part. What could she say? She knew she was in big trouble.

"Kelly!" His use of her name with that tone of voice was both a warning and a demand for an answer.
